Bio
Experienced elementary teacher and organic farmer based in Northeast Georgia. My goal is for each of my lessons to develop deep conceptual understandings that lead to efficient processes for thinking and analyzing. First, we'll talk to figure out what you need to practice. After that, I'll show you a breakdown of the steps it takes to reach your goal. Then, we'll start on practice - as you get better at a skill, I'll give you less and less support until you can do it all on your own.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching experience started in 2009, when I began working as a part-time preschool assistant teacher with Jumpstart, an early literacy program. In 2011, I earned a B.A. in English at Morehouse College, and in 2013 I completed coursework for my M.A.T. in Childhood Education at the Relay Graduate School of Education. From 2011 to 2021, I led elementary classrooms (Grades 1, 3, 4, 5) in Brooklyn, New York, where I also started two school gardens.
